Owner Releases & Community Rescues Available for Adoption

Owner releases or community rescues are private adoptions where you deal directly with the person listed below. They are not Kitty and K-9 Connection rescues and do not fall under our rescue guidelines or contracts. KKC offers this service to assist the general public in helping to rehome these pets for one reason or another. To use this service, pets MUST be spayed or neutered and current on vaccines. Because KKC relies on donations to keep their rescue efforts going, please include a donation for this service. You can send your check, made payable to KKC or Kitty and K-9 Connection, to 13140 Midori Drive, Anchorage, Alaska 99516. Listings will be posted for 30 days. You can list them longer, however, it is your responsibility to contact us to let us know ahead of time that you wish to extend the listing. Our web-site guru, Angela, will gladly post your pet's picture and bio. E-mail your pet's information to kkc.carol@alaska.net and we will ensure your pet is posted.

merlot Merlot is a large, not overweight, lanky male grey tabby. He has unusual markings - his tabby is spotted. This guy has a very nice temperament, loves to be a lap kitty and he is a talker. Very affectionate too. He is neutered, declawed and his shots are up-to-date. This was Laurie's son's cat that she now has to find a home for as she is unable to keep him. She requests that you call her at 830-6555 if you would like to make Merlot part of your family.

mia

If you are looking for an amazingly loving adult dog with the heart of a puppy look no further. Mia is a beautiful 6½ year old 73 lbs. Greater Swiss Mountain Dog mix (lab and husky). She is spayed, micro-chipped, and current on all of her vaccines and teeth cleanings. Mia has been part of our family for six years and due to family changes we are unable to give her the love and attention that she deserves. Mia enjoys daily walks and is great on a leash both in town and out on the trails. She knows all of her basic commands and will do just about anything for cheese. She is highly energetic and loves attention from all people. Mia would like a home with a large fenced yard preferably away from busy streets or with a high wooden fence. She enjoys spending her days outside all year long but prefers to sleep indoors at night. Mia has been an only dog for all of her adult life but has developed friendships with other friendly larger dogs. For more information, please contact Kat at alaskakat@gmail.com.

ThistleBramble

We are looking for a good quiet home for these sweet little sisters, named Thistle and Bramble. We rescued them as wild little kittens nearly 12 years ago and gave them their names in part because they are both polydactyl (extra toes, with all the claws!). They have always lived with other cats and dogs, but we now have two young (human) boys and these cats are completely overwhelmed by them. They've always been a little shy and take awhile to warm up to strangers, but we hardly ever see them now since they are always hiding from the kids. We are about to move (more upheaval) and feel like they would be much better off where they could get more attention and not have to cope with little kids. They are healthy and litterbox trained. Please email me, Jocelyn, at jekrebs@mac.com, if you are interested.

francis

My name is Daniel and I am seeking a new home for our wonderful dog. Francis is a loving and faithful companion who unfortunately cannot relocate with us. He is an excellent partner for camping and adventure, and loves to fetch and run. He is great with kids and gets along well with most other cats and dogs. He is seen at Ravenwood pet clinic in Eagle River and
takes inexpensive meds for a thyroid disorder. If you are seeking a gregarious family dog or companion for adventure, please contact us soon to meet our pal Francis!

Please e-mail treedan1@gmail.com or phone 907-903-6963. thanks!

edison

Hi my name is Edison and I am a very special kitty. My family found me in a box along with my brother on the side of the road in Utah. My family fixed me up along with my brother (Einstein), and gave us a warm and loving home. From that moment on my family rescued and rehomed unwanted kitties until they received orders to Alaska. Well my family couldn't part with us because they knew we were not entirely trustful with humans. However the more kitties they brought home the happier I became. Upon getting to Alaska my human family multiplied and I never could quite adjust. I am very timid around children and basically live under a bed. Needless to say I am very stressed out. I also lost my brother a year ago and never fully healed from the loss of my sidekick.

Edison is a black and white 7 year old neutered male. Up to date on vacinations until 2014. Not microchipped or declawed.

We got orders to England and leave in October. So I would like to find him a new home because we feel the stress of the move might kill him. I feel like he would do best with adults and a multiple cat household.

For more information on Edison, please call Ashley at 603-978-7108.

rory

My name is Katelynn and I am interested in finding a new home for my dog. She is a boxer mix, about 4 1/2 years old, reddish brown with white socks and other markings, loves other dogs, shy with people but warms up, playful, very energetic and very sweet. Her issue is that she has separation anxiety and continues to scratch at doors and chew things. I have tried multiple things to fix this problem including medication. I don't have the time or money to keep up with this anymore. It's breaking my heart but it's for the best. Rory would be best in a home where people aren't gone a lot and have time to exercise her a lot. I really love my dog and want to find the best possible place for her.

My email is km107864@yahoo.com and my phone number is 314 914 1406. Thank you.
